Why You Should Attend This Symposium:

With the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars in the rearview mirror, the Defense Department is preparing for a new era of explosive ordnance disposal that will bring fresh challenges and require new technology solutions. Improvised explosive devices planted by insurgents were one of the top threats during the post-9/11 conflicts. But now, the U.S. military is refocusing on neutralizing bombs and mines that it could face in future conflicts against more advanced adversaries. Vehicle Mounted C-IED systems are attributed to growing investments of the armored forces around the world into procurement and integration of vehicle-mounted counter IED systems into the land, air, and sea platforms. The Global Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Robot Market is anticipated to expand at a stable rate between 2022 and 2028, with the end goal being to integrate these unmanned systems for EOD & to reduce Soldier fatalities.

The 9th Annual EOD/IED & Countermine Symposium will bring together members of the various Military branches & Federal Government agencies to discuss the current initiatives toward advancing domestic and international counter-IED missions in support of US National Security. Senior level speakers at this forum will examine the various ways they are collaborating on neutralizing the threat that these various types of explosives can cause to the Homeland & to vital critical infrastructure. This forum will also offer attendees insight into the emerging innovative technologies, enhanced training, and methods of intelligence gathering that are vital to successful EOD and demining initiatives in the era of Strategic Competition.
Attendees at this forum will have the chance to hear about EOD initiatives toward identifying & neutralizing explosive threats from a safe distance during expeditionary operations, while also have the opportunity to learn of emerging technologies that will better equip Warfighters for future large scale combat operations (i.e. EOD robots). Threat actors will continue to utilize this method of attack against our Warfighters & civilians post the COVID-19 pandemic, which is why this event provides the chance for meaningful debate as to how to better mitigate them. Additionally, a panel of experts at this event will provide their take on planning and providing EOD support to mid -intensity or large-scale combat operations against a near peer adversary.
